The Story Behind the Podcast
Throughout my career, I noticed there were things that impacted how successful I was in the role I was in, and either propelled me or held me back from achieving the success I desired. These are common to many of us and include:
The training you receive for your position is often dependent on the proficiency of your manager and their ability and willingness to train you
The things you do in your role may not be best industry practices, but what your company has always done
There is a lack of understanding of the roles of other people in your own company - Sales doesn’t understand R&D, R&D doesn’t understand Quality, Quality doesn’t understand Clinical, etc.
We know our own market, but don’t know what is happening in other medical markets - Neuro companies don’t know Orthopedics, Orthopedics don’t know Interventional Cardiology
If you are not continually learning, you will become less effective and valuable
I began this podcast to help you deepen your knowledge of the industry and better prepare you for a successful career. My objectives for you are:
Expose you to best practices in your functional area
Understand the roles of people in your organization, customers, and others in our ecosystem so you can become more effective
Learn new practices and techniques used in other medical device markets
Accellerate your learning, leading to faster career progression
One final thing. Listening is great, but listening without action is a waste of time. Try to find one thing from every episode that you can implement today. That is how you will grow, improve, and take your career to the next level.
